Where are DXL scripts executed?

Hi.

I understand that DXL scripts are executed in the DOORS server. Instead, the server gets the script by the net and execute it...

But I'm not sure because of other approach could be that the client interpret the DXL script, and send orders or statements to the server by the net for executing them. (For example that kind of statements could be send by XML or something like that).

The issue is about if we can avoid the local client to connect directly with the server, and the way for doing that.

Thanks in advance.
Best regards.
Carlos.

Almost all DOORS actions are executed by the client and also DXL scripts are executed in the client. DOORS DB server is just (almost) for storing and manipulating data, views and users.

Note: if your DOORS client does not have database server connection, it will close down.
